There are 3 pollutants that CADR measures, which are representative of different size particles, and they are: POLLEN, which represents larger particles (20 microns) DUST, which represents medium sized particles (5 microns) and SMOKE, which represents some of the smallest particles (0.1-1 microns). CADR helps tell you how much of a particular contaminant is removed from the air within a specific period of time, and it creates an objective rating that allows consumers to compare one air purifier to another based on standardized testing. ![]() According to CDC guidance, CADR/cfm should be 2/3 of the total room size.ĬADR stands for Clean Air Delivery Rate. The higher the number, the more effective it will be. ** CADR (Clean Air Delivery Rate) is an objective measurement for comparing air filter performance, based on its ability to remove particulate matter. ![]() * Harvard University Study cited by CDC recommends at least 4 air changes per hour to effectively remove viruses, bacteria, smoke, dust & pollen. I also find the rear soft-touch color to be unique, as it's not quite dark grey, offering a green sheen that stands out in certain lighting.1 Pre-Filter (attached to UltraHEPA Filter)ġ Pre-Filter (attached to Carbon/VOC filter)īuilt-in, hidden casters & recessed handles There's also a 3-dot connection pin on the upper left for attaching a case that offers physical page turn buttons (my favorite feature, though the case is an extra purchase at $60), and a magnetic connector on the right for attaching the included stylus. The power button sits on the top-left edge, and the USB-C port and stereo speaker grills are placed along the bottom edge. Even the ASAHI glass screen covering the Kaleido Plus E Ink display offers a bit of flair thanks to the way it sits ever-so-slightly above the casing. Things feel and look much more premium this time around. Going from 7.7mm to 6.3mm, with a soft-touch-coated back replacing the smooth plastic rear of the previous model. Things have been slimmed down since the Nova3 Color, significantly. I can say that this particular slab looks nice and feels great in hand. Like most e-readers and tablets, the Nova Air C is an unassuming device, another slab of plastic and glass in the shape of a rectangle. The Nova Air C is shaping up to be a top contender in the current digital reader market. ![]() While the UI remains primarily the same, counterintuitive that's untranslated in sections, and the color screen still makes little sense at 7.8-inches when color content like comic books and magazines need a larger screen, the Nova Air C is still a powerhouse that can easily display any text-based e-book you toss at it while offering plenty of extras Kindle, or Nook simply can't match, like stylus support and a color screen (even if it is a novelty). The OS has been bumped from Android 10 to 11, warm LEDs have been added to the backlight, and the speaker has expanded from mono to stereo. The Nova Air C has many similar features as the Nova3 Color and the Nova Air, with its color screen and pen support, but there are definitely some worthwhile improvements in the mix, too. This model serves as the update for the Nova3 Color (reviewed last November), packed within a much slimmer design while hitting the exact same price point of $420. Onyx is at the forefront of color e-reading tech with the latest generation of E Ink's Kaleido Plus screen, which just so happens to be the screen in its new Boox Nova Air C color e-reader.
